The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Millennium, #3)The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest by Stieg Larsson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An amazing ending to the Millennium Trilogy. Lisbeth Salander is my hero for being so smart and able to take care of herself. I sped through this book because I could not possibly put it down. A must-read for this year.

Thank You for Smoking

Thank You for SmokingThank You for Smoking by Christopher Buckley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was quite enjoyable but not as good as the movie. There were plot variations but it was good. I would recommend it for anyone who needs a good snicker.

Cleopatra’s Daughter

September 15, 2010

Cleopatra's Daughter: A NovelCleopatra’s Daughter: A Novel by Michelle Moran

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was absolutely fantastic. It introduced me to a world I had never known, the world of Kleopatra Selene, daughter of Marc Antony and Queen Kleopatra VII of Egypt. She lived under fear of reprisal from Emperor Augustus just because of her parents. She is an amazing heroine and Michelle Moran does an amazing job in being historically accurate and true to her characters. A must-read for any history buff of the Ptolemies.

Still Alice

Still AliceStill Alice by Lisa Genova

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a very interesting look into Alzheimer’s disease and how it can affect a person so profoundly. The protagonist, Alice, slowly loses her memory as the book goes on but finds more than she thought she would. It made me think a lot about my family and our experience with this disease and how it would affect someone like me who, like Alice, lives through my brain and language functions. A wonderful read that I would recommend to anyone wanting an honest look into a debilitating disease that is still misunderstood.

Naamah’s Kiss

Naamah's Kiss (Kushiel's Legacy, #7)Naamah’s Kiss by Jacqueline Carey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a wonderful addition to the Kushiel series. New characters introduced years after the ending events of the second trilogy that continue the legacy of desire, travel, and wonderful heroines. I cannot wait until I can read the next in the series.
