Review: Dead in the Family

Dead in the Family (Sookie Stackhouse, #10)Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another wonderful entry into the Sookie Stackhouse series. There were quite a lot of plotlines that got wrapped up quite quickly by the end a little too easily so this may have been better with just two plots rather than three but it was well-executed and a great read.

Review: Never Let Me Go

October 20, 2010

Never Let Me GoNever Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was very interesting and not a concept that I have come across in many works. I have seen it in some other books but the storyline with all of the main characters being clones who were grown to provide organ donations was intriguing especially because it was never laid out as something odd or even explicitly stated for the majority of the novel. I could not stop wondering how these three characters would connect and break and come back together by the end. Wonderful novel.

Naamah’s Curse

October 17, 2010

Naamah's Curse (Kushiel's Legacy, #8)Naamah’s Curse by Jacqueline Carey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another amazing entry into the Kushiel/Naamah series. Only Carey can pull off two different huge plots in one novel without sacrificing quality or her characters. Moirin is a woman with a destiny and while she may not always understand it, Elua’s parting words, “Love as thou wilt” continue to shine through her as she travels through Ch’in , Tatar territory, and all the way to Bhodistan (China, Mongolia, and India). Another wonderful edition and I am waiting ever impatiently for the next entry into this series.
