The Fury and Dark Reunion (The Vampire Diaries, #3-4)The Fury and Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The more I read these the more I like them. It is a breezy read that is perfect as a summer book but the characters are well written and the plotlines all make sense. Not sure exactly where it will go in the next books of this series but I intend to find out.

The Awakening and The Struggle (The Vampire Diaries, #1-2)The Awakening and The Struggle by L.J. Smith
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Very interesting set of books. I like that they put them together so I could immediately start the next one without losing the plot but I could see the drop off as a huge problem if you wait a long time to see the next book. Still the plotting was good and you can see where Stephanie Meyer got a lot of her basic plot for Twilight. LJ Smith knows her characters and their motivations so it was quite good to see them evolve. Good for vampire fans for a quick summer read.

Night of the Living TrekkiesNight of the Living Trekkies by Kevin David Anderson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A thrill from beginning to end, this book combines the best of zombie fiction with the Star Trek fandom. Even better is the inclusion of Star Ward hatred, an entire convention shut down, and a RV rendition of the USS Enterprise. An absolute must read. I must thank Eric Smith of Quirk Books for sending me an ARC of the book so I could read it and now tell everyone I know that it was bloody amazing!!!
