Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America
Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America by Jeff Ryan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An amazing look into the history of Nintendo. I thought I knew Nintendo but there was amazing research in this book and I learned much more than I expected. They are a compelling company with a lot on innovation and ideas behind their business philosophy. Definitely a must-read for everyone who loved Super Mario Brothers and grew up as part of the Nintendo generation.

Review: Carmilla

Carmilla
Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I finished this book in a day and it was quite interesting. A novella about a lesbian vampire succubus was quite refreshing and interesting. I could tell throughout the novel that Carmilla was posing as several different people with anagrams of her own name and was killing people around her. Still it was intriguing to watch her seduce Laura the narrator and how they would resolve her killing everyone around her. It predates Dracula which makes it even more interesting as one of the first vampire texts. A classic I would recommend.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was absolutely amazing. Christie is the undisputed queen of mystery fiction but she went above and beyond with this one. I had no idea of who the culprit was until the very end even though all of the clues were there. It was absolutely amazing and I sat in absolute stupification once I finished the last page. Absolutely fantastic and definitely a must-read.
