Review: One for the Money

One for the Money
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A very cute book following Stephanie Plum, broke and a new bounty hunter. The sexual tension with Joe Morelli jumps off the page (or Kindle in my case) and makes the novel quite enjoyable. I called the villain early in the book but that didn’t deter from my enjoyment. It does not make me want to see the movie that much but it was a sweet bit of candy coated goodness in my day.

The Bro Code
The Bro Code by Barney Stinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you love HIMYM, you will love this. Perfectly written in the voice of Barney Stinson with all of his humor and charm. I flew through it and it was just amazing.

Review: Song of the Nile

January 20, 2012

Song of the Nile
Song of the Nile by Stephanie Dray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I adore Stephanie Dray and everything she write. I was blown away by this book. The characterization was amazing and Cleopatra Selene is definitely a woman I would want to know. She was a powerful queen who did whatever she had to in order to regain the throne of Egypt. In reading other novels that focus on Cleopatra’s daughter, I was intrigued but Stephanie Dray’s are beyond compare. She does such a great job of writing Selene that I felt like I was a part of her and was experiencing her pain, her humiliation and her triumphs. An absolute must read for those who love ancient cultures and want to know more of the “last” of the Ptolemies.
